Abington Township

Utilizing the skills and experience of our diverse team, Delta worked with Abington Township, Montgomery County to develop a thorough and visionary Feasibility Study for Economic Development in Abington Township (Study) to build-upon Abington Township’s record of economic success.  The Study identifies demographic, socioeconomic, and industry trends that will impact future economic development efforts in the Township, identifies priority areas for future development, redevelopment, and rehabilitation, assesses how the identified areas advance economic development priorities, and includes an action and implementation strategy to advance proposed economic development efforts. A recommendation of the Study was to establish an Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to lead the way in promoting economic development efforts in the Township.  Through implementation of the Study’s findings and recommendations, the Township can cultivate economic equity, sustainability, and resiliency.

On August 10, 2023, the Abington Township Board of Commissioners undertook a near-unanimous vote in favor of forming the EDC.  This EDC is a non-profit organization that will give full focus and resources to revitalize the Township and its unique neighborhoods, thereby supporting existing businesses, attracting new businesses, undertaking essential community revitalization and beautification projects, and implementing the goals and objectives identified by Township stakeholders.

​The establishment of the Abington Township Economic Development Corporation is the first of many exciting developments resulting from the collaboration between Abington Township and Delta Development Group.
