East Whiteland Township, Chester County, was awarded $1,850,000 in TA Set-Aside (TASA) funds for the Sidley Road to Chester Valley Trail Connection Project. This Project will construct approximately 0.75 miles of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure along Sidley Road, Moores Road, and Mill Lane to connect offices, residences, and schools to the Chester Valley Trail.
The improvements will transform an auto-centric corridor into a walkable community and will address growing safety and accessibility concerns. This trail will utilize a mix of off-road, multi-use trails, existing sidewalks, and improved shoulders and will provide residents, employees and student and staff at Great Valley Schools with direct access to the Chester Valley Trail and to Greater Philadelphia’s Regional Trail network. This trail network will serve residents, businesses, workers, and commuters, providing opportunities for recreation, transportation and improved health and wellbeing. The vision for this project is to increase recreational opportunities and provide multimodal transportation alternatives to single occupancy vehicles, while supporting the economic strength of the region. Delta Development Group began working with East Whiteland Township in early 2022 to provide assistance with public funding for priority projects. This TASA award is a result of tremendous collaboration between East Whiteland Township, PennDOT and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and their ongoing commitment to the safety and prosperity of East Whiteland area residents, visitors and businesses. https://www.dvrpc.org/tap/pa/ Comments are closed.
