The Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA) assigned Delta to develop a zero-emissions transition plan for its’ fleet as per Federal competitive grants under § 5339(b) “for projects related to zero-emission vehicles, which requires applicants to submit a zero-emission transition plan that demonstrates a long-term fleet management plan with a strategy for how the applicant intends to use the current application with future acquisitions, examines the impact of the transition on the current workforce and avoids the displacement of the existing workforce, and other information…”
Zero Emissions Transition Plans are required to obtain this and other zero emissions bus grants. Delta assisted WRTA by inventorying current fleet, infrastructure and baseline conditions; Impact analysis of conversion, feasibility study of the conversion, including draft of conversion concept and design of a conversion plan and finally development of the zero emissions transition plan, implementation, approach and schedule.
Delta completed the zero emissions plan within budget and the 9-month timeline.
WRTA is now on it’s way to securing Federal competitive grants.
