Delta congratulates the Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company (OLTVFC) of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania for its recent federal awards totaling over $1.8 million for enhancement of the Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company Regional Emergency Service Hub. Using the awarded funding, OLTVFC will renovate 8,000 square feet of its existing space and add 3,000 square feet of new space. The renovated and newly constructed space will allow the building to accommodate college live-in students and enable OLTVFC to expand their training offerings for careers in first response fields. Of the recent federal funding secured, $1,345,000 of USDA Rural Development Community Facilities funding was secured through the Congressionally Directed Spending process through the advocacy of Congressman Glenn Thompson, Senator John Fetterman, and Senator Dave McCormick. An additional $500,000 was secured through the Appalachian Regional Commission's Area Development Program through the support of the Appalachian Regional Commission and the PA Department of Community and Economic Development. The project will ensure that job openings in first response fields throughout North Central Pennsylvania are filled with qualified individuals, thereby enhancing public safety in the region.
