DPS Planning
The first phase of the preparedness cycle is to conduct planning. It is often said that plans are nothing, but planning is everything, and Delta's Disaster Preparedness experts agree that the planning process is far more important than the final document. Delta works cooperatively with a jurisdiction throughout the planning process, whether it is for response operations, mitigation, or post-disaster recovery.
Delta conducts extensive research so that plans are based on reality in terms of hazards' potential effects and jurisdictional capabilities and vulnerabilities. The team facilitates development of the jurisdiction's concept of operations or strategy for mitigating against or recovering from disasters, and helps the jurisdiction determine where responsibility lies for each aspect of the plan's implementation. Delta then develops the document itself and ushers it through the review, approval, and dissemination process, as well as aligns the plan with other stakeholders' plans.
