Shippensburg University Foundation
Shippensburg, Pennsylvania
As a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, Shippensburg University receives annual appropriations from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to support its operating costs. Such funding support, however, has been decreasing and today Commonwealth funds comprise only 40 percent of the University's operating costs. Because of this situation, support from private sources has become essential.
To this end, the Shippensburg University Foundation was created to provide the necessary private support and ultimately sustain the margin of excellence at the University. Even this support, however, is sometimes inadequate and requires the University and Foundation to seek alternative sources of financial support.
Together, the University and the Foundation retained Delta to assist in leveraging federal funding to support their various projects including the University's Performing Arts Center, campus surface transportation improvements, and the Foundation's new Conference Center facility. Delta has been successful in securing nearly $1,400,000 in federal funding and is continuing its efforts to support the University and Foundation's academic mission.
