ROSEANN CORDELLIA seasoned communicator by profession and passion, Roseann Cordelli’s three decades of professional expertise is in the strategic development and delivery of meaningful messages. She understands a communicator’s toolbox must include a blend of visual, audio, electronic, interactive, and personal messages. Her comfortable command of language and quick-study ability across a variety of disciplines yields straightforward, client-centered results that translate complex and often contentious subject matter into understandable messages that convey options and opportunities to leverage positive change; package and advocate projects worthy of public funding and community support; communicate emergency public information to save lives, protect property, and mitigate panic; and engender stakeholder participation that ignites robust discussion and decision making.
As a Senior Associate at Delta, Roseann is the subject matter expert on communications strategies and outreach forums, frequently leveraging her past professional experiences as a public/government relations advocate for cogenerators and independent power producers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Pennsylvania’s municipally owned power providers. As a former government relations director for an electric power transmission and generation utility that serviced rural and farm communities, Roseann understands the economic and political sensitivities of balancing development, environmental, and land use interests. She has guided not-in-my-backyard (NIMBY) communications campaigns to preemptively address and respond to sensitive issues in public forums, has provided government relations services to the Farm Credit system, and has worked extensively in rural development issues, particularly involving infrastructure.
Roseann has strategized and conducted outreach campaigns related to Chesapeake Bay-related issues that included the development of messages and collateral materials. She gauged public opinion through the design and execution of community visioning workshops on a variety of subjects, including economic development, land use planning, and environmental issues. Elsewhere, she developed the communications campaign for dispensing the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to eight million Pennsylvanians in 36 counties, and developed instructional materials/curricula/script for on-site and online volunteer training to staff SNS points of dispensing. She designed a public outreach/media campaign in three languages to reach special needs populations in New Jersey, and led the evaluation of a neighboring state’s communications campaign during the H1N1 pandemic – only one of five such communications campaign analyses nationwide.
Formerly principal owner of Capital Communications, Roseann has extensive public advocacy, press relations, broadcasting, and corporate marketing experience. She is a repeatedly published, national award-winning freelance writer and editor, and has been a frequently-requested speech writer among corporate and trade group executives.
Roseann graduated with top honors from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism communications and a Master of Public Administration degree. She has also completed professional development training in risk communications at the Harvard School of Public Health in Cambridge, Massachusetts, along with several independent study courses through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. She is presently marketing a printing process patent, along with a novella manuscript.
