As Vice President of Finance and Administration, Karen Christie leads the accounting and administrative support of the management and consulting teams and provides financial information analysis for planning and decision making.

 

Prior to joining the Delta team, Karen served as Executive Vice President of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce. In this capacity, she provided staff leadership to advocate business, legislative, and community issues. Her focus was on education, tax, small business, and minority business concerns. Other previous work experience was with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources, where she provided administrative support and regulatory review of water and waste management and abandoned mine reclamation.

 

Karen served three four-year terms as an elected school director for the Cumberland Valley School District; she was President of the Board through 2005 and 2006. She also served as a director of Capital Area Intermediate Unit #15 and the Cumberland Perry Vo-Tech Joint Operating Committee. Karen's community leadership and advocacy of public education provide clients in this sector with a realistic perspective of continuous educational improvement, as well as workforce training and development opportunities to meet the needs of growing economies.

 

Further, her service as a member of the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority Advisory Board and the Hershey Capital Region Visitors Bureau Board of Directors has given Karen keen insights and understanding of the impact of travel and tourism on local economic development.

 

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Elizabethtown College, supplemented with professional development in leadership, media relations, strategic planning, business plan development, and marketing. She has also completed independent study courses through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and has been certified at the IS-100 and IS-200 levels.

 

She is also a registered volunteer with the State Emergency Registry of Volunteers in Pennsylvania (SERVPA), a statewide emergency preparedness system that credentials, manages, and deploys individuals to assist during disaster situations.
